Taking and Sharing Pictures

It is often really useful to add a picture to a text - for underlining, better imagination, as proof, as explanation and many more. How the picture is made and put in context is an important fact for helping the knowledge and not for confusing and overdrawing it. I think that this could happen not so much with wrong composition but more with unsuitable editing; there is often not much needed: just little correctures as gradiation, contrast and maybe saturation should be used; and if there is more correction needed because it is a bad photo, I would say that the person should think about taking it (or you really have the knowledge how to fix it). There are more and more programs for editing digital pictures easily. But my advise is still: Stay factual and do not try to improve something somehow . - I often use Flickr if I need a photo because it is good to use; for example you can only search after common license which is very practical. I think that many people just google for some photos if they need one and download it - and this is not really allowed - probably the problem is that the people do not know it. The web seems to be open and exploitable but there are also things which must be respected, same as copying a picture from a book. Or maybe they think that nobody will attract attention if they show the photo without censure because the web is anyway "so big" and "has an endless amount of pictures". That is maybe true and I think that it is not absolute that good - I think that a certain part of the whole picture amount is just nonsense and trash; sometimes it seems for me that people upload photos without sorting/selecting them out. (that was the reason why I did not took somehow quickly a picture of my country and try somehow to put it somewhere in context (as I am not right now preparing/helping a text for e.g. Wikipedia)- it has to be considerated very well.)
